Netlinks · Authority by Atômico Press

Digital authority built on press coverage that people actually read.

Press is not luck. It is a method. Netlinks runs authority through Atômico Press: story angles, newsroom relationships and editorial link building on outlets that have readers and traffic. Every article works twice, as proof for the reader and as a citation with a link for the index.

We work in English, Portuguese and Spanish. Headquarters in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

01Overview

Digital authority

Digital authority is how Google and the AI models answer one blunt question: why should I trust this company? The answer is built outside your website, in who talks about you, where they talk and how consistently.

At Netlinks, this entire practice runs through Atômico Press, the group's digital PR arm, led by Gabriel Raposo, Chief Authority Officer, who worked at Ambev and Agibank before taking over link building and press here. It is an editorial operation: angle, reporting, newsroom relationships, publication and monitoring of every piece that goes live.

It plugs straight into the rest of the project. The SEO agency work decides which pages need weight, SEO consulting calculates how much authority separates you from the category leader, and this practice closes that gap with a target, an outlet list and a deadline.

02Definition

What digital authority means in practice

Digital authority is the set of external signals telling search engines and language models that your company is a trustworthy source on a subject. The main ones are links from other sites pointing to yours, brand mentions inside text the algorithm already trusts, and consistency between what you say about yourself and what others say about you.

That matters for three concrete reasons:

  • Rankings. Two pages with equally good content and equally clean engineering end up tied. The tiebreaker is almost always the link profile. That is why companies with flawless sites and thin authority stay stuck on page two.
  • AI citations. ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Copilot cite sources when they answer. Source selection runs on reputation: a brand covered by recognized outlets makes the list, a brand that only talks about itself struggles to.
  • Proof for actual humans. The person deciding between you and a competitor searches your company name. What they find on that first page is your public résumé.

The Netlinks authority practice works all three at once, because one well-placed article covers all three in a single move. Publishing on a relevant outlet delivers the link, the citation and the proof together.

What the practice rules out, in writing: private blog networks, rented footer space, bulk directories and thousand-link packages. That is not a saving, it is a liability. The full criteria are in buy backlinks.

03The sector

The four authority practices

Every company arrives with a different problem: missing links, missing press, or no idea what is already out there. The practices below cover the full cycle and usually run together inside one engagement.

Link building agency

The full acquisition operation: competitive gap analysis, per-page targets, prospecting, editorial production and publication. See link building agency.

Curated backlinks

When the need is specific and the question is volume, curation by authority tier solves it. Open criteria, outlet disclosed before pitching, report with the published URL. See buy backlinks.

Digital PR

Angles, releases, media training and journalist relationships so the brand becomes a source rather than an advertiser. See digital PR.

Profile audit and repair

An audit of what already points at your domain, toxic link identification, disavow when warranted and broken link recovery. Full background in what is link building.

Authority in three languages

Outreach in English, Portuguese and Spanish, with native writers and outlets from the destination market. Exporters need links from the market where they sell.

Authority for AI

Presence in the sources models consult: press, Reddit, vertical forums, YouTube and reference databases. Tracked in AI monitoring.

04The brand

Atômico Press: who signs this practice

Atômico Press is the digital press office of Netlinks Group. It started from a simple observation: classic PR measures clippings, SEO measures links, and both are the same move when the story is good.

The brand connects companies to journalists, outlets and the right editorial audience, producing earned media, media relations and authority. Inside a search ecosystem that carries a double payload: the article is social proof for the reader and a cited link for the index.

Inside the Netlinks site, Atômico Press shows up as the Authority sector, with the same team and the same App. The brand's own site is at atomicopress.com.br.

05Effect

How coverage turns into rankings and citations

An article published on a relevant outlet starts a predictable chain. First the crawler reads the text and registers the link to your domain. Then the accumulated authority spreads through your internal pages, which usually moves mid-funnel terms first, the ones already sitting on the edge of page one.

In parallel, that article enters the working memory of language models. When somebody asks ChatGPT or Perplexity who does what your company does, the model weighs whoever has already been cited by credible third parties. A brand that appears only on its own site has a hard time joining that list.

This is why authority is never sold as a separate product. It sits in the same plan as technical SEO, structured data and content production, and shows up in the same report. Links without a strong page to receive them are wasted, and a strong page without links stays put.

06Criteria

What separates a link that holds from a link that only costs

Every month a company reaches us after buying a link package and not understanding why nothing happened. The table below is the screen we run before approving any outlet.

CriterionLink that holdsLink that hurts
Nature of the outletA site with a newsroom, its own editorial line and returning readersA domain created to sell space, with no audience
ContextInside an article about your subjectIn a partner list, footer or sidebar
Real trafficOrganic visits you can verify in Ahrefs and SemrushAuthority inflated by links between sites owned by the same person
Anchor textNatural, varied, often just the brand nameAlways the same exact money phrase
PermanenceEditorial content that stays publishedRented space that vanishes when the retainer stops
AI footprintAn outlet the models cite as a sourceA page no model ever consults

07Cadence

How the authority practice runs each month

Authority compounds. The cycle below repeats, with fresh angles every month and a review of what already shipped.

  1. Month 1

    Baseline and target

Link profile audit in Ahrefs, Semrush and Majestic, comparison against the three competitors set in the diagnosis, and per-page targets. First angles written and pitched.

  2. Month 2

    First placements

Stories negotiated in month one go live. Every published URL lands in the App with outlet, date, anchor text and destination page.

  3. Month 3

    Cadence and first read

Volume stabilizes, higher tier outlets enter, and the effect read begins: which pages moved, which terms shifted, and where the brand started getting cited by AI.

  4. Every month

    Live pitch list

Proprietary data, spokesperson opinion, industry calendar and news hooks. A good angle is what makes a journalist reply.

  5. Quarterly

    Profile review

Lost links, broken links and inherited toxic links. Replacement of what dropped and disavow of what actively hurts.

  6. Always

    Open channel

08Proof

What this practice has already shipped

Nobre. The gift and hamper holding company was repositioned on its site and in the press at once: coverage on major Brazilian portals tracked the repositioning, and organic traffic grew 300%. Full story in Nobre.

BTG Pactual. A technical partnership in digital authority, covering link building and method, cited by the bank's SEO Director. This is the kind of project where every outlet clears a compliance layer before anything is published. See BTG Pactual.

Leo's Marble & Granite. Authority built in English for a countertop company in Massachusetts. Without links from the American market, no new page would have ranked there. See Leo's Marble & Granite.

Netlinks runs the method on itself: the company has been covered by Estado de Minas, Terra, Endeavor and Empresas & Negócios, and is backed by Google for Startups.

09The deliverable

What you receive

Finished work, approved by you in the App and shipped. Not a report that only describes the problem.

Authority diagnosis

Your link profile against your competitors': how many referring domains are missing, of what kind, and pointing at which pages. Ships with the first quarter's target.

Pitch plan

The subjects your company genuinely owns, turned into angles a journalist will take, with a named spokesperson and a calendar.

Placements on real outlets

Editorial coverage published, with a contextual link to the agreed page. The outlet is always disclosed before we pitch.

A report for every link

URL, outlet, date, anchor text, destination page and domain authority, live in the Netlinks App, with no month-end wait.

Profile cleanup

Identification of toxic links inherited from previous vendors, a disavow file when the evidence warrants it, and broken link recovery.

AI citation read

Which models now cite your brand, in answer to which questions, and which competitor sits beside you.

10How it works

From the audit to the page going live

The same path on every project, with an owner and a date on each step.

  1. 01

    Diagnostic call

One meeting to understand the business, the available spokesperson, what has been tried in press and which pages need weight. No commitment.

  2. 02

    Profile audit

Everything pointing at your domain today, and everything pointing at your competitors. The gap comes out as a number.

  3. 03

    Target and curation

How many links, to which pages, in which authority tier, over what period. The target outlet list is shown before any outreach.

  4. 04

    Editorial production

Angle, reporting, writing and your approval. Nothing reaches a journalist without your sign-off.

  5. 05

    Publication and logging

The story goes live and the URL enters the App the same day, with every link detail attached.

  6. 06

    Measure and adjust

Rankings for the pages that received links, AI citations and competitor response. Next month's plan comes out of that read.

11Who leads

Who leads your project

The three of them own the process and manage the team on every account. No senior who shows up at kickoff and disappears: they sign off on the plan, review the work and talk to your team.

12Who it is for

Where this work pays off the most

A good company nobody knows

Solid product, happy customers and almost no presence outside your own website. This is where press moves fastest.

A brand stuck on page two

Good content, fast site, flat rankings. The bottleneck is usually authority, and the diagnosis shows it in an afternoon.

Regulated or sensitive operations

Banking, healthcare, legal and education, where every placement clears compliance. The approval flow is designed before the first pitch goes out.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is digital authority?

It is the set of external signals that make Google and AI models trust your company as a source: links from other sites, brand mentions inside credible text, and consistency between what you claim and what others say. It is built outside your site, through press and editorial links.

Is digital authority the same as link building?

Link building is one part of it. Digital authority also covers unlinked mentions, presence in communities such as Reddit and vertical forums, entity consistency in structured data, and brand reputation. The full discipline is described in what is link building.

Who leads this practice at Netlinks?

Gabriel Raposo, Chief Authority Officer, responsible for link building and press, previously at Ambev and Agibank. He signs off on outlet curation and pitch strategy for every project, with the Atômico Press team executing.

How long before authority shows up in results?

First placements usually go live between 30 and 60 days, because a story needs reporting and newsrooms run their own calendars. Ranking effects follow as volume compounds. It is quarterly work, and the diagnosis says so in the first meeting.

Do you disclose the outlets before publishing?

Always. The target list is presented and approved by you before anyone contacts a newsroom. Once live, the URL enters the App with outlet, date, anchor text and destination page.

Can you build authority in English and Spanish?

Yes, and it is a large share of what we do. Outreach runs in three languages with native writers and outlets from the destination market. Brazilian links do little for a company trying to rank in the United States, as the Leo's Marble & Granite case shows.

What if my site already has bad links from past work?

That goes into the diagnosis. We map what was inherited, separate merely irrelevant from genuinely toxic, and only use the disavow file when there is evidence of risk. Disavowing as a precaution usually strips value from good links too.

How do I request a diagnosis?

Through contact or WhatsApp. The authority diagnosis is done with no commitment, and includes your link profile snapshot next to the competitors you name.
