SEO by platform · Magento
Magento SEO that handles a large catalog without losing speed.
Magento (now Adobe Commerce) was built for complex operations, with multi-store, multi-currency and a large catalog. That robustness needs infrastructure to match and case-by-case technical configuration, or Core Web Vitals pays the price of the flexibility.
We work in English, Portuguese and Spanish. Headquarters in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

01Overview
Magento SEO agency
Magento demands a technical conversation other e-commerce platforms do not require at the same level: full-page cache (Varnish), layered navigation configuration and multi-store views. Each of these, misconfigured, generates a specific kind of SEO problem.
The consulting starts by auditing infrastructure before any content plan, because undersized hosting is the most common cause of poor Core Web Vitals on a Magento store with real traffic.
The technical logic is the same one applied to any large catalog, including VTEX: control crawling, mark up structured data at scale, and only then scale content, inside the Response Marketing Method.

02Platform
What is different about technical SEO on Magento
Layered navigation, Magento's attribute filter, is the equivalent of faceted navigation on other platforms: it creates URL combinations that compete with the real category pages for crawl budget. Canonical and `noindex` configuration needs to keep up with every new attribute added to the catalog.
Full-page cache (Varnish) is essential for performance on Magento, but when misconfigured it can serve Google a stale version of the page, delaying indexing of recent changes.
Multi-store view lets you run several languages or brands on the same installation, but hreflang between them is not automatic: it needs manual configuration by store view sitemap, or Google mixes different language versions in results.
03Scope
What is included in the work
Infrastructure audit
Hosting, cache and Varnish configuration diagnosis, with a fix plan prioritized by Core Web Vitals impact.
Layered navigation control
Canonical and indexing rules per filter attribute, avoiding duplicate content at scale.
Structured data per store view
Product schema extension configured for every language or brand version of the installation.
Hreflang across store views
Manual configuration of the sitemap and language tags between store versions.
04Technical edge
Structured data: partial extension coverage
Third-party extensions handle basic `Product` schema, but rarely cover `FAQPage` or `HowTo`, formats that help both with Google's rich results and with AI citations. Closing that gap is manual work on the product and category template.
On a multi-store-view installation, the schema needs to be generated per version, with price and availability specific to each store, not replicated from the main store.
- Product, Offer and AggregateRating per store view
- FAQPage and HowTo on technical product pages
- BreadcrumbList synced with the category tree
- Validation in a test environment before applying to production

05GEO
Magento's catalog and shopping AI answers
A B2B or B2C store with a technical catalog benefits from well-structured comparative content, exactly the kind of content shopping AIs cite most often. This sits in the same consulting plan, alongside GEO: SEO for AI, with no separate contract.

06Comparison
Magento against other scale platforms
Magento and VTEX compete for the same kind of large operation. The platform choice is already made by the time consulting starts; what changes is where the diagnosis should focus.
| Magento | VTEX | |
|---|---|---|
| Biggest technical risk | Layered navigation and stale cache | Faceted navigation duplicating URLs |
| Native multi-language | Store view, manual hreflang | Requires per-country/store configuration |
| Structured data | Third-party extensions, partial coverage | Requires middleware over the feed |
| Infrastructure | Self-managed or Adobe Commerce Cloud | Managed by VTEX |
07Measurement
What you track in the App
Core Web Vitals per store view, wrongly indexed filter pages, rankings by category and AI citations land in the live report. Cache and canonical fixes usually move the first number within weeks.
In operations with ERP integration, the report also flags when a stock or price sync alters the HTML in a way that breaks structured data, common in Magento stores with catalogs updated several times a day.
08The deliverable
What you receive
Finished work, approved by you in the App and shipped. Not a report that only describes the problem.
Infrastructure audit
Hosting, cache and Varnish configuration reviewed.
Layered navigation control
Canonical rules per filter attribute.
Structured data per store view
Product schema configured by language or brand.
Live reporting in the App
Core Web Vitals, crawling and AI citations, 24 hours a day.

10Who it is for
Where this work pays off the most
A B2B operation with a technical catalog
Magento is a common choice for manufacturers and distributors with a large catalog and per-customer price rules. Technical SEO needs to respect that complexity without exposing pricing improperly.
A multi-store-view store in more than one language
A brand with more than one storefront on the same Magento installation, each needing its own hreflang and schema, reviewed together so Google does not get confused.
A technical team with no time for SEO
Developers focused on keeping the store live, with no capacity to take on another workstream. The consulting delivers the spec ready to implement.
11Case studies
Results with a name, a number and a date
Real projects, with what was done and what changed. No generic charts and no promises of a position.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Why is my Magento store slow even with good hosting?
Misconfigured full-page cache (Varnish) is a common cause, along with extensions that were never optimized for the real traffic volume.
What is layered navigation and why does it affect SEO?
It is Magento's attribute filter (color, size, brand). Every combination can generate an indexable URL with no search value, competing for crawl budget with the real categories.
How does hreflang work on a multi-store-view installation?
It is not automatic. It needs manual configuration in each store view's sitemap, or Google mixes different language versions into results.
Are Magento's SEO extensions enough?
They handle basic product schema, but rarely cover FAQPage or HowTo. Closing that markup usually needs manual work on the template.
How long until I see results on a Magento store?
Cache and canonical fixes usually move the first signal within weeks. Ranking gains on a competitive category are quarterly work.
Does migrating from legacy Magento to Adobe Commerce Cloud help SEO?
It can help performance, but it only enters the conversation when the diagnosis shows the current infrastructure is the real bottleneck.
Does the work change if the store is B2B, with per-customer pricing?
Yes. The audit checks whether login-based price simulation is being indexed by mistake, which would expose a commercial condition meant only for the logged-in customer.
