SEO by platform · VTEX
VTEX SEO that keeps a large catalog winning on Google.
VTEX handles scale: tens of thousands of SKUs, multiple categories, complex stock and price integrations. That same scale multiplies the technical SEO risk, in faceted navigation and in crawling. The consulting steps in to organize what grows on its own.
We work in English, Portuguese and Spanish. Headquarters in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

01Overview
VTEX SEO agency
VTEX is the platform mid-size and large e-commerce operations choose once the SKU volume and logistical complexity outgrow a simpler store. That brings robustness, but also a typical scale problem: facet navigation (color, size, brand, price range) that creates endless URL combinations, and each combination is a page Google can crawl with no real need to.
Netlinks treats this crawl control as a prerequisite before any content plan. Without it, the store's crawl budget gets lost in filter pages with no search value, and important category pages take longer to be revisited by Google.
The work follows the same Response Marketing Method applied to any large catalog, including Magento and Shopify: technical diagnosis first, structured data at scale second, content and authority on top.

02Platform
What is different about technical SEO on VTEX
A headless architecture (VTEX IO or a custom FastStore front end) completely changes the performance conversation compared to a store running on VTEX's legacy CMS. Before talking content, it matters which architecture the store runs on today, because that sets the ceiling for possible Core Web Vitals.
VTEX's faceted navigation is the most sensitive technical point: every filter combination can turn into an indexable URL if canonical and `noindex` rules are not written case by case. This is not a one-time fix, it is a rule that needs revisiting every time a new category goes live.
Shipping and price simulation by region can generate different HTML for the same user depending on the simulated postal code, which requires technical care so Google does not index a simulated price version that is not the page's default.
03Scope
What is included in the work
Faceted navigation control
Canonical and indexing rules per filter combination, preventing crawl budget from being lost on pages with no search value.
Structured data at scale
Product, Offer and AggregateRating markup via middleware, applied to the whole catalog, not product by product.
Redirect migration
Bulk registration in VTEX's native Redirect Manager whenever categories change URL, without losing ranking history.
Segmented sitemap
Sitemap generation by category, respecting the technical per-file limit and prioritizing what Google should revisit first.
04Technical edge
Structured data on a catalog of tens of thousands of SKUs
VTEX does not natively ship full JSON-LD for the whole catalog. Closing that markup requires a middleware that reads the product feed and generates the schema per SKU, including attribute variants, which becomes unfeasible to do manually above a few hundred products.
Title and meta description also need a dynamic template by attribute (color, size, voltage), because generating the same text for every product variant is the most common cause of duplicate content in large VTEX stores.
- Product, Offer and AggregateRating per SKU, via middleware over the catalog feed
- Dynamic title and meta description templates by attribute
- BreadcrumbList synced with the category tree
- Schema review on every storefront layout update

05GEO
Large catalog and shopping AI answers
A large catalog is a GEO advantage once the data is clean: ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity can compare product variants more precisely when the schema describes each SKU without ambiguity. It is the same structured data that powers a rich result on Google that also powers a citation in an AI answer.
This sits in the same consulting plan, alongside GEO: SEO for AI and AI monitoring, with no separate contract.

06Comparison
VTEX against other e-commerce platforms
Large scale calls for different technical discipline than small scale. The table below summarizes where attention needs to be highest on each platform.
| VTEX | Magento | Shopify | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Biggest technical risk | Faceted navigation duplicating URLs | Layered navigation and stale cache | Third-party app JS |
| Structured data | Requires middleware over the feed | Third-party extensions, partial coverage | Basic native, needs completion |
| Bulk redirects | Native Redirect Manager | Configured via .htaccess or extension | Redirect app |
| Typical scale | Tens of thousands of SKUs | Thousands to tens of thousands | Hundreds to thousands |
07Measurement
What you track in the App
Indexed versus crawled pages, rankings by category and product term, Core Web Vitals per template and AI citations land in the live report, with no month-end wait.
On a large catalog, the first signal is usually the drop in wrongly indexed filter pages, visible within weeks. Ranking gains on a competitive category are quarterly work.
08The deliverable
What you receive
Finished work, approved by you in the App and shipped. Not a report that only describes the problem.
Crawl audit
Mapping of wrongly indexed filter pages and a fix plan.
Structured data middleware
Product schema applied to the whole catalog, not SKU by SKU.
Redirect plan
Bulk registration in the Redirect Manager for category changes with no ranking loss.
Live reporting in the App
Crawling, rankings, speed and AI citations, 24 hours a day.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Why does my VTEX store have so many more indexed pages than real products?
That is the classic effect of faceted navigation: every filter combination can turn into an indexable URL if the canonical rules were not written for the specific catalog.
Does headless VTEX (IO) change the SEO strategy?
It changes the possible performance ceiling. A storefront on VTEX IO or FastStore allows Core Web Vitals optimizations the legacy CMS does not allow the same way.
Does VTEX already ship product structured data?
Not fully for large catalogs. It needs a middleware that reads the feed and generates the schema per SKU, including attribute variants.
Does shipping simulation by postal code affect SEO?
It can, if Google indexes a simulated price version that is not the page's default. That is a technical point covered in the initial audit.
How do I migrate categories without losing Google rankings?
With bulk registration in VTEX's native Redirect Manager before the change goes live, preserving the ranking history of the old URL.
How long until the first results show up?
The drop in wrongly indexed filter pages usually shows up within weeks. Ranking gains on a competitive category are quarterly work.
Do you work with VTEX stores of any size?
Yes, but the technical work pays off more on medium and large catalogs, where faceted navigation and SKU volume make manual control unfeasible.
