SEO by platform · WordPress

WordPress SEO that organizes what the plugins don't fix.

WordPress is Google-friendly by default, but that does not mean it is optimized. A misconfigured SEO plugin, a visual builder that bloats the HTML, and a security gap are the three most common problems on a WordPress site with stalled traffic.

01Overview

WordPress SEO agency

WordPress powers a huge slice of the web precisely because it is flexible: any plugin, any theme, any visual builder. That same flexibility is also the source of most SEO problems we see in a diagnosis, because every piece added has the potential to break something that used to work.

The consulting starts with what usually nobody has reviewed: the actual SEO plugin configuration (not the install default), the HTML the visual builder generates, and the site's security health, because WordPress is a frequent target for intrusion when it falls behind on updates.

The work follows the Response Marketing Method: fix the technical base, mark up the right structured data for the content type, and organize the content production and authority plan on top of that base.

02Platform

What is different about technical SEO on WordPress

SEO plugins like Yoast and RankMath handle title, meta description and a basic sitemap, but the install default is rarely tuned to the real site: duplicate titles across pages, a generic meta description repeated everywhere, and canonical rules that do not follow the site's actual category structure.

Visual builders like Elementor and Divi make page assembly easy, but tend to generate heavier HTML than necessary, with excessive nested divs. That drags down Core Web Vitals without anyone noticing, because the page feels fast in the editor's own browser.

Security is part of WordPress SEO, not a separate topic: a hacked site loses rankings fast, whether from injected malicious content or from Google's penalty when it detects suspicious behavior. Keeping core, theme and plugins updated is the first line of defense.

03Scope

What is included in the work

SEO plugin audit

Full review of the actual configuration against the factory default, with rules specific to the site's structure.

HTML cleanup and performance

Simplifying what the visual builder generates, with a direct focus on Core Web Vitals.

Security and monitoring

Core, theme and plugin updates, with an alert when an external change touches the site.

Structured data by page type

Article, FAQ, Organization and BreadcrumbList, marked up according to the type of content published.

04Technical edge

Structured data by content type

A WordPress corporate site usually mixes service pages, blog articles and a contact page, and each type calls for different markup: `Service` on the service page, `Article` on the blog, `Organization` and `LocalBusiness` on the contact page, `FAQPage` wherever there are visible questions.

The most common mistake is the plugin applying the same generic schema to every page type. That lowers the chance of a rich result and of an AI citation, because the markup does not precisely describe what is on the page.

  • Article with author and date on blog content
  • Service and LocalBusiness on corporate pages
  • FAQPage on pages with questions visible to users
  • Schema review on every theme update

05GEO

WordPress content that AI can cite

A WordPress blog is one of the easiest formats to prepare for GEO, because the article structure already exists. The work is writing the answer directly, marking up `Article` and `FAQPage` correctly, and reinforcing authority so the model trusts the source. This sits in the same consulting plan, alongside GEO: SEO for AI.

10Who it is for

Where this work pays off the most

A corporate site stuck on traffic

WordPress published for years, with no organic visit growth. The audit reviews plugin, theme and content configuration before any new production.

A company that has already been hacked

A site cleaned up after an attack, with no ongoing update and monitoring process since. Security becomes part of the SEO plan, not separate from it.

A marketing team with no dedicated developer

Whoever edits content has no technical server access. The consulting takes on the fixes that require that access and hands back a result ready to publish.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

My site is already on WordPress. Why isn't it ranking on its own?

WordPress is indexing-friendly by default, but that does not replace strategy: keyword mapping, structured content and technical fixes are still needed.

Isn't the SEO plugin I already use enough?

The plugin handles the basics, but the install default is rarely tuned to the real site. The audit reviews the whole configuration, not just whether the plugin is active.

Do visual builders like Elementor hurt SEO?

They can hurt performance, because they generate heavier HTML than necessary. The impact varies by theme and is measured in the technical audit.

My WordPress site was hacked before. Does that affect SEO today?

Yes, if there is no ongoing monitoring. A vulnerable site tends to be hit again, and that drops rankings fast. Staying updated is the first defense.

What kind of structured data does a corporate WordPress site need?

It depends on the page type: Article on the blog, Service and LocalBusiness on corporate pages, FAQPage wherever there are visible questions.

How long until I see results?

Technical fixes usually move long-tail terms in 30 to 60 days. Competitive terms are quarterly work.

Do you also handle e-commerce on WordPress with WooCommerce?

Yes, with a specific product-schema approach. See the detail on WooCommerce SEO.

How much access to the site do you need to work?

Administrator access to WordPress and, when performance or security fixes need to happen at the source, access to the hosting. Everything documented and reversible.
